The 4th year of Camelot ReLeaf was again a success! We sold 15 native trees, of which four were canopy trees and 11 were understory trees. That's a total of 76 native trees planted in Camelot and Winterset over four years.

Camelot Garden Club members Cindy Davis, Sylvia Sloan and Charlie Kackley were the team that made it happen. Clear Ridge Nursery and Rimble Landscaping partnered with us to grow, deliver and plant the trees. Every one of these native trees is helping rebuild our natural habitat to benefit wildlife. Birds, bees, butterflies and other wildlife critically need native trees for survival.

Additionally, the canopy trees are helping cool the environment, slow stormwater runoff, provide oxygen, reduce air pollution and sequester carbon. People are beginning to understand that local ecosystems are losing large numbers of native species. This reduces the ecosystem services we rely on - crucial services like clean air and water, flood control, pollination for our food, pest control, and carbon storage.

Let's each do our part to make Camelot (and Annandale) a leader in restoring the native ecosystem!
